The Shape of an Islamic Life

Daily rhythms, weekly rhythms, lifelong rhythms

By Kifāyah Institute·May 8, 2026·3 min read

Daily

The five prayers cut the day into intervals of remembrance. The morning and evening adhkār anchor the edges.

Weekly

Friday is a horizon. The week bends toward it and renews from it.

Yearly

Ramadan, Hajj, the two ʿĪds — these are not events to attend but seasons to inhabit.

Lifelong

The arc of a Muslim life is iḥsān — the steady deepening of awareness that God sees us, even when we cannot see Him.
